Road Test is a Max for Live device that captures the whole Arrangement through Live's Main output. Scan the QR code, choose your mix on your phone, and play it through your usual car audio connection.

From Live to the driveway
- Drop it in. Unzip your download and add Road Test.amxd to Main, after the other devices in its chain.
- Activate your room. Open Options → Activate Road Test and use the purchase key from your Lemon Squeezy receipt. No separate Road Test account or password.
- Export + Upload. Let the entire Arrangement play through capture, then wait for MP3 conversion and upload to finish.
- Take your mix with you. Open the listening-room QR code on your phone. Connect to your car with Bluetooth, USB, or your usual audio setup, and use the browser player.
Capture happens at full playback speed: a four-minute song takes about four minutes to record, plus conversion and upload. Road Test is not Live's Export Audio/Video command, and it is not a CarPlay or Android Auto app. Set up playback while parked.
Bring the right equipment
- Ableton Live 12 with Max for Live: included with Suite, or available separately for a compatible Live edition.
- Tested on Windows and macOS.
- Fixed-tempo Arrangement songs, with stereo audio at 32, 44.1 or 48 kHz.
- An internet connection for activation, uploading, and phone playback.
- No separate Ableton Extension or FFmpeg installation is required.
Installation is one device file: unzip the download, drag Road Test.amxd into Live, and activate your room. Save your Set before the first export. After a successful upload, temporary local audio is removed; download any MP3 you want to keep from My songs before it expires.
Private by link. Not by magic.
Your room is protected by a long, hard-to-guess link rather than a Road Test login. Anyone with that link can access the room, so keep it private. Single-mix share links let you share only the version you choose.
Each upload can be up to 20 MB (roughly eight minutes at 320 kbps). Your room supports up to 1,000 stored versions and 30 uploads per hour, within the 1 GB allowance. Delete unwanted mixes to free space. Each uploaded mix expires after 90 days; copies you download remain yours.
